Summary

The Inside Sales Sr. Manager (Americas) will be responsible for helping the Business Development department in selling products to international customers in the company’s Americas region of operations, which includes Canada, Mexico, Latin America, and South America. The Inside Sales Sr. Manager (Americas) will play a fundamental role in achieving AeroVironment’s ambitious customer product acquisition and revenue growth objectives. The Inside Sales Sr. Manager (Americas) must be comfortable making dozens of calls per day, working with channel partners, generating interest, qualifying prospects, and closing sales.

Position Responsibilities

  • Represents the International BD team in the Simi Valley home office and works in close collaboration with the Business Operations Team, the pricing specialists in Finance, the Marketing Team in relationship to tradeshows and marketing materials for new products, the product line demonstration teams, and the People and Culture Team in relationship to onboarding newly hired AV personnel.

  • Supports the capture of new business opportunities in the Americas regions by working closely with the Sr. Regional Director to assist in developing excellent responses to Requests for Information, Requests for Proposals, pricing, and more, and ensures that all Salesforce updates are timely and accurate.

  • Assists the Sr. Regional Director in forecasting quarterly and annual booking performance.

  • Actively reaches out to prospective or existing customers to create and advance opportunities in order to book these orders within the expected timeframe.

  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from inquiries, trade shows, dealer resellers, and other sources.

  • Sources new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails.

  • Closes sales and achieves quarterly results.

  • Researches accounts, identifies key players, and generates interest.

  • Maintains and expands your database of prospects within the Americas territory.

  • Teams with channel partners to build pipelines and closes deals.

  • Performs effective briefings online to prospects; in the future assists and even executes successful demos overseas.

  • Periodically travels to US and regional sales events, to include trade shows and demonstrations, to identify new and advance existing sales opportunities.

  • Overall, supports the Sr. Director (Americas) in achieving company goals and objectives.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.

  • Bilingual fluency is required (English and Spanish), Tri-lingual (Portuguese) is preferred.

  • Prior military service preferred to aid in communication with foreign military customers.

  • Good understanding of US government proposal and program requirements.

  • Good understanding of regulatory requirements for US government programs, including Foreign Military Sales (FMS).

  • Good understanding of budget and schedule process and able to track and forecast using business analysis techniques.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in sales, US Government, or US military, or a combination of these, with a track record of overachieving.

  • Charismatic, positive attitude, and professionally outgoing.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving ability.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

  • Prioritizes and organizes own work to meet deadlines.

  • Possess good judgment and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a multi-project environment and support multiple internal customers and departments.

  • Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally, up to 25% of the time.

Physical Demands

  • Strong communication skills: oral presentations, writing, negotiation, active listening, influencing positive team dynamics.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office business applications, Salesforce experience a plus.

  • Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives. Understands and delivers Message to Garcia daily.

  • Strong Project management skills managing pipelines, demand generation, deadlines, prioritization, and process orientation.

  • Skilled in negotiation.

  • Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties.

  • Demonstrated ability to be organized and work both independently and within a team, with strong attention to detail and strong project management skills.

  • Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work.

  • Focuses on teamwork and puts the success of the team above one's own interests.

Special Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) required.

  • Position is located in Simi Valley, CA (preferred) or Huntsville, AL.

The salary range for this role is:

$108,275 - $153,615
