The Account Development Manager - Corporate is responsible for developing and implementing strategic business plans to drive growth and ongoing value to corporate customers.

  • The role is focused on identifying growth opportunities within existing portfolio, achieving portfolio growth targets and ensuring the highest level of customer service for our clients.

  • Proactively manage an effective pipeline; identify growth and expansion opportunities

  • Responsible to achieve and exceed individual goals and targets

  • Operate effectively in a matrix organization with the ability to influence and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to drive results

  • Trusted advisor to the customers and be the primary business development liaison with internal key stakeholders

  • Develop and implement strategic plan based on in-depth knowledge of customers’ business objectives, industry benchmarks, macro economic trends and market landscape to drive account growth and retention

  • Effectively deploy American Express data, resources and tools to articulate American Express differentiated value proposition

  • Ensure American Express value is aligned with customers’ goals and objective to deliver positive customer experience and advocacy

  • Drives business success through shared expertise in highly collaborative approach

  • Team player, results oriented, self-starter who displays growth mindset and initiative

This role may be subject to additional background verification checks.

  • 5-7 years of account management/ sales experience

  • Strong Sales & Business Development experience, B2B selling expertise, Presentation & Negotiation skills

  • Very strong financial acumen B2B sales experience Strong communication skills and a will to win

  • Strong aptitude towards developing, retaining and strategically growing portfolio of existing customers

  • Structured methodology to account development and demonstrated experience of interacting at C level

  • Ability to collaborate and influence internally and externally

  • Experience in developing and executing a successful sales strategy

  • Ability to interpret financial data and using the same effectively for client negotiations

  • Good listening and questioning skills to uncover complex customer needs

  • Strong communication skills

  • Prior understanding of the Commercial Card business is preferred
