Aon is currently recruiting a Data Scientist to join our Affinity Analytics team within Aon's Center for innovation & Analytics (ACIA) in Singapore.

Aon’s Centers for Innovation and Analytics are at the heart of delivering Aon’s Data & Analytic Services team’s mission to:

  • Accelerate the rate of innovation through digital solutions to help better respond to clients’ evolving needs

  • Provide foundational data and analytics capabilities in one place for 50,000 Aon colleagues and our global clients who use our risk and people solutions

    Established in 2012, there are over 150 colleagues in Singapore’s Centre today including actuaries, software developers, data scientists, financial analysts and accountants. We are expanding rapidly and looking for dedicated individuals who can leverage emerging technologies and collaborate across Aon’s solution lines to help clients and colleagues make better, data-driven decisions today and tomorrow.

    What the day will look like

    The Data Scientist works with a team of data analysts dedicated to solving practical problems for our business units. This includes developing advanced data science models, addressing complex challenges, and taking on large integrated analytics projects.

  • Execute and deliver analytical models, including data normalization, aggregation, analysis and validation of model assumptions and results

  • Contribute to the data and analytics strategy and roadmap.

  • Implement machine learning models and other advanced analytics.

  • Support the development and improvement of data analytical techniques (statistical and data science models) through design, testing and implementation to improve work efficiency.

  • Assist in data cleaning, collation, preprocessing and evaluation of information gathered from multiple sources

  • Conduct data extraction and analysis to produce insights from the data collected

  • Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in the data collected or model results

  • Mentor and provide guidance to other team members in data science practices

  • Support the documentation and review of internal analytical process and identify improvement opportunities

    Our sales & marketing insurance experts work together to understand your customers’ needs and develop total insurance solutions that provide ultimate customer satisfaction. Additionally, Aon Affinity Solutions acts as an advocate for you and your customers, managing relationships with underwriters to ensure you get the best prices and terms and that claims are handled fairly and quickly.

    The Data Scientist will serve as a technologist and thought leader developing analytics solutions that support marketing, underwriting, and operations across Aon Affinity.

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Technical Science or related field

  • 5 or more years experience in data science

  • Strong proficiency in Python development.

  • Deep understanding of classifier development and text analytics.

  • Ability to build the skill level of other team members.

  • Familiarity with tools and technologies, including Databricks, scikit-learn, Pandas, SPARK, SQL, and Snowflake.

  • Proven track record in analytics solution design.

    Preferred

  • Prior experience in the insurance industry.

  • Underwriting automation experience

  • Successful implementation of recommender systems

  • Deep understanding of Generative AI
