Responsibilities
The Product Line Quality Specialist is responsible to the implementation of quality standards and processes to drive quality performance in Product Line.
A successful candidate will collaborate closely with Quality, Product Lines, R&M, Manufacturing, Engineering, and his/her supervisor on a regular basis as well as present to internal teams plans and updates.
Implement quality related systems, process, and tools
Implement Quality Improvement Plans to drive toward Zero Defects and Zero Quality Escapes as well as reduction of Cost of Quality (COQ)
Coordinate and perform internal process audits
Identify and report any quality concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
Inspect parts in-process, finished products, and/or purchased materials for conformance to specifications.
Observes operations for conformance to specifications, preparing report of findings.
Prepares and maintains records and documentation of inspection acceptance, rejection, and/or re-work requirements.
Set up or adjust and operate inspection equipment to ensure its accuracy.
Verifies applicable drawings and specifications are the current revision prior to use.
Verifies that all measuring and test equipment is in current calibration and calibration labels affixed to each piece prior to use.
Receiving inspection to include dimensional, visual non-destructive testing and hardness testing as may be required.
Maintain and update calibration database for calibrating equipment
Coordinate outsource/in-house equipment due for calibration
Comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford
Maintain clean and safe environment
Perform various other duties assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
3-5 years of experience in Quality or Engineering (with Quality focus) in an industrial related business.
Advanced knowledge of inspection processes and documents related to job.
Basic understanding of quality process and quality management system.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
PREFERRED
Qualifications in non-destructive testing (e.g., MP/LP/UT/RT)
5 years demonstrated experience with quality related continuous improvement programs and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Tool
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
REQUIRED
Ability to lead, supervise, direct and set priorities of inspection personnel
Ability to establish a teamwork environment
Ability to adequately read and interpret machine, weld and assembly drawings and select and accurately use inspection gages/tools
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical notes, procedures, and specifications
Demonstrated skills related to problem-solving, decision-making, judgment, leadership, root-cause analyses, and team collaboration to lead and influence others to drive change
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Demonstrated report-writing skills
Strong communication and facilitation skills between functions – verbal and written
Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
Able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to evoke critical thinking
PREFFERED
Working knowledge of Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) equipment
Weatherford enterprise and management systems knowledge
Document management and control experience
Experience using JDE
Experience leading in a matrixed organization
