Abbott Regional Manager- Financial Planning & Analysis in Singapore, Singapore

​MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

Contribute to the company's financial and commercial success by developing and enhancing the internal financial reporting systems and providing management with clear, objective financial business data to support the decision-making process. The position is an integral part of the regional finance function and supporting EMAK/ANZ will be a core component of the role. It involves working with senior management teams as well as corporate specialty functions.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Planning & Analysis:

  • Provide oversight and controls for the monthly accounting close process, including appropriate expense accruals plus review of actuals versus plan to ensure completeness and accuracy of monthly financial information

  • Organize and produce monthly and annual reporting to the required timetable

  • Monitor country financial performance by highlighting material variances using system generated detail and trend reports

  • Ensure accurate tie outs between the different reporting tools (Business Objects, SAP, Salesforce,com, Dodeca, local ERP)

  • Continuously enhance reporting tools through the automation of data feeds, adaption of existing models/methods, and the invention of new models/methods

  • Review and investigate the company’s accounting transactions to improve data accuracy

  • Support in business modelling, P&L forecasts and competitor benchmarking

  • Support in analysis of forecast, budget, actuals and other specific business dynamics

Business support:

  • Working closely with Commercial business to evaluate margin impact related to investment decisions, pricing and promotions, and business development opportunities to support the making of decisions

  • Prepare Corporate Account reports, ad hoc reporting and/or analysis as required by Corporate Accounts Manager

  • Timely & accurate calculation and accrual of monthly rebates and payments are executed in accordance with approved Rebate agreements and properly authorized in accordance with corporate policy

  • Work with rebate team to ensure rebate payments and system entries are done in time

  • Meet with departmental management to understand their needs and provide support to their decision-making process by using existing tools or inventing new ones.

  • Participate in planning meetings in order to provide financial insights and track changes

Others:

  • Support internal and external audit

  • Ensuring compliance with financial guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal regulations

  • Ensure compliance in performing the training as required by the training procedure

  • Be prepared to take any ad hoc projects at any time, last minute requirements, expansion of scope or projects, for both country and APAC as requested by manager or APAC controller

  • In carrying out all job-related activities, this person must be in compliance with local Singapore rules and regulations, environment laws, internal and U.S. FDA regulatory requirement, financial rules and practices, Code of Business Conduct, and local law and company regulations as stipulated in Abbott Singapore Employee Handbook.

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS or BA in Accounting, Finance, or Economics

  • Minimum 6 - 10 years financial analysis experience; and working experience in supporting regional Asia Pac or Southeast Asia markets

  • Dynamic, motivated team player who can also work on one's own for days at a time

  • Strong Excel (including VBA language), Powerpoint skills, knowledge of SAP, Dodeca, Business Objects, PowerBi is a plus

  • Ability to plan, implement, and administer financial information and control systems

  • Knowledge of the principles, processes and standards for integrated financial analysis and reporting

  • Able to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines

  • Potential to grow within the organization

  • Highly analytical, with an eye for detail

  • Creative and able to tease out causal relations in a mass of data

  • Strong commitment, willing to take ownership of problems

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Accurate time management & reporting skills

  • Accounting knowledge a plus
