Amazon Solution Architect Leader, AWS Public Sector, ASEAN in Singapore, Singapore

Description

As a Public Sector Technology Lead within Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mind share and broad use of Amazon’s utility computing web services at nation-scale across eleven ASEAN countries ranging from very mature (e.g., Singapore) to nascent (e.g., Cambodia).

Your success as a large leader-of-leaders will be driven by your alignment of Tech strategies, resources, initiatives, and solutions with the overall ASEAN PS strategy. Your broad responsibilities will include: setting organisational strategy for the ASEAN technical team, owning the technical engagement and ultimate success of Area-wide implementation projects, and developing the team’s deep expertise in the AWS technologies as well as know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform.

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrable organisational skills in building talent, cultivating strong customer facing skills that will allow them to and ensuring tech resources represent Amazon well within customers’ environments, driving discussions with senior personnel within the customer, interacting with, and giving guidance to software developers and architects. They should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges. We expect you to manage other solution architects and to represent as the evangelist of the cloud services for the public sector customers.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage the solutions architect group in the public sector business unit across ASEAN

  • Host external presentations and workshops as the representative of AWS

  • Serve as a key technical member of the Business - Development team in helping to ensure customer success in building applications and services on the AWS platform.

  • Support the solution architects scope each customer engagement, with attention towards clear and well-defined objectives and success criteria.

  • Own technical engagements, and help ensure a timely and successful delivery of value (delivery of actual solutions could be done by AWS partners)

  • Capture and share best-practices among the solution architect community.

  • Understand the AWS market segments, customer base, and industry verticals.

  • Understand and exploit internal Amazon systems.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of management of technical, enterprise customer facing resources or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience architecting/operating solutions built on any cloud service provider like Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud
