dsm-firmenich Manager, Inventory Management in Singapore Tuas, Singapore

The inventory manager is responsible for the delivery of inventory targets within the Asia region. He/She will need to work across the supply chain to determine the optimized inventory strategy for the region including raw materials, semi finished and finished goods. He/She will also be orchestrating inventory reduction projects for the region.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement world class inventory strategies and policies including response actions to any issues identified

  • Work with all other planning teams at the regional level to ensure inventory targets are met

  • Propose and implement continuous improvement action/project for all related inventory processes

  • Ensure all inventory control processes are executed in line with the agreed frequency

  • Manage and control overall inventory figures & reports to achieve short and medium term financial and operating objectives

  • Run the inventory projection on a regular basis, perform the resultant inventory analysis and provide the required comments to justify any variances versus the target and last estimate

  • Lead the regional write-off and obsolescence process; coordinate with other functions (Purchasing, manufacture, Quality, Commercials etc.) to ensure proper actions and accountability on WO and obsolescence is kept

  • Be the guardian of the slow mover, overstock and block stock processes, propose action plans to reduce any risk of obsolesce and ensure a proper follow up for the materials in the scope

  • Intervene to perform control in crisis mode and arbitrate

  • Conduct investigations into inventory management incidents in order to verify and resolve complaints

  • Ensure the cycle count rules are correctly implemented on the shop floor

You bring

  • Bachelor degree in a business, data, science or supply chain discipline

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Demand Planning, Inventory Management or Material Planning.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and influence others to move towards consensus

  • Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure with changing priorities and deadlines

  • Analytical powers, good attention for details and the patience and persistency to execute thorough investigations in a demanding and challenging environment

  • Good communication and relationship building skills in English

  • Able to navigate and analyze large amount of data.

  • SAP (APO/R3) is a prerequisite and Advance Planning System (RapidResponse) will highly valuaed
