T & M Concrete Concrete Finishers in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

T and M Concrete LLC, Sioux Falls, SD, needs 3 temporary (04/01/24 - 12/15/24) and full-time Concrete Finishers to work at various jobsites in the greater Sioux Falls area in Minnehaha and Lincoln counties of South Dakota. The concrete finisher will pour, level, and smooth concrete on various surfaces, including roads, sidewalks, curbs, and floors. Workers will be required to set the forms that hold the concrete in place, patch existing surfaces, cut expansion joints, and monitor the curing of the concrete to ensure a high-quality finish. To be a successful concrete finisher, workers need the skills necessary for the trade and be familiar with the latest concrete pouring technology. Workers must be able to stand for long periods of time, work on their knees, lift heavy materials, and work outdoors in high heat and cold weather. Workers will be setting forms that hold the concrete in place. Cleaning and inspecting surfaces for pouring issues and directing the casting of the concrete with the truck driver. Pour, smooth, and level concrete using a rake, trowel, float, and screed, and use handheld tools and power tool versions. Workers will monitor the effects of the weather on the curing process. Applying sealing and hardening components. Safely operating power vibrator to ensure the concrete is compacted. Molding and constructing expansion joints using joiners and edging tools. Polishing surface using a power surfacing machine. Must have 3 months experience. No education requirements. OJT provided. $20.07p/h, overtime wage rate of $30.11, overtime including weekend work may be available but is not guaranteed, general schedule of 40h/w, 7am-5pm, Mon-Fri. Applicants may be offered higher than the advertised wage rate due to experience or merit. The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will be paid on a bi-weekly basis. The employer will make all deductions from workers paychecks that are required by law. The employer will provide optional housing accommodations from a third-party if relocating for the position and not within reasonable transport to jobsite. If employer-arranged housing is utilized the worker will be deducted an amount that does not exceed reasonable fair market value costs based on the number of occupants but is yet to be determined. If workers request and receive a pay advance, that amount will later be deducted from their paycheck. If relocating for the position, the cost of transportation and subsistence to the place of employment will be reimbursed, if half of the employment period is completed. This reimbursement will be calculated by the exact cost of the transportation expenses by airplane or bus fare, as well as subsistence expenses calculated at the minimum amount of $15.46 per 24-hour period of travel and the maximum amount of $59.00 per day. Return transportation and subsistence will be provided if the employment period is completed, or if dismissed early. The employer will provide daily transportation to and from the jobsite. The employer will reimburse the H-2B worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees that are to the benefit of the employer. All tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job will be provided to workers at no charge. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period.
