Location: Cheektowaga-Sloan Union Free School District (Elementary level)

Salary/Pay Scale:$43,953 - $54,207 commensurate with experience (with an additional $2,200 for Master's Degree as per the TAC contract)

Position Summary/Purpose:

In the Cheektowaga-Sloan UFSD, the faculty and staff are dedicated to creating a positive learning environment that recognizes all students' unique needs and talents by combining character education with a curriculum based on critical thinking. The emphasis is on teaching the whole child in order to create lifelong learners who are best prepared for college, career, and beyond.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS:

• Successful administration of the selection, reviewing, acquisition, processing, and maintenance of all online and print library resources

• Able to use technology and find ways to integrate it into the classroom to increase student learning

• Evidence of understanding audio-visual equipment

• Knowledge of N.Y.S. learning standards and multiple types of student performance assessment

• Working knowledge of teaching and learning strategies in literacy, writing, and information skill development

• Ability to implement STEM lessons as part of the library curriculum

• Ability to balance students' social/emotional and academic/intellectual needs

• Evidence of strong communication and interpersonal skills with parents, faculty, staff, and students

• Evidence of teamwork with administration, school faculty, and library staff

• Able to manage and maintain a large inventory of school equipment

• Working knowledge of library management systems (Cheektowaga Sloan utilizes DESTINY LIBRARY MANAGER from Follett)

• Participate in ongoing professional development on emerging curriculum design, technologies, and pedagogies of instructional media technology.

• Provide knowledge, leadership, and vision to ensure the growth and success of the library program

• Commitment to active participation in school

• Other duties as assigned by the building principal, the Superintendent of Schools, and/or her designee
