GENERAL
Position Overview
Ensures hospital compliance with regulations from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy, CMS, and survey guidelines from CIHQ. Interprets physician prescriptions and medication orders. Acts as a drug information resource to patients, medical staff, nursing staff and ancillary department staff. Dispenses prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals for patient care by performing the related duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor of Science degree or PharmD from ACPE accredited school of pharmacy
Experience
Minimum one (1) year of experience in a hospital setting preferred. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Certification
Must be licensed by the State of Texas Board of Pharmacy.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of health care accounting, finance and reimbursement principles; proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications. Proven management skills and discipline in work planning, estimating, resource planning, risk assessment, scope and issue management of complex projects.
Personality / Interpersonal Skills
