Shire Warehouse Supervisor, Weekend 2nd shift in Social Circle, Georgia

The Warehouse Supervisor leads a team in Shire’s Covington, GA plasma therapy facility with responsibility for all warehouse operations (receiving, storage, materials delivery to production and shipping) are executed on time, on budget and in strict compliance with GMP, EHS and Shire Quality System. Additional responsibility includes inventory control and accuracy.

Warehouse Weekend 2nd Shift Supervisor

12 Hour Shift

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

  • Supervise warehouse personnel including hiring, performance management, goal-setting, and coaching

  • Ensure that daily operations are completed

  • Define the shift strategy

  • Support the team in case of issues with the information systems

  • Drive operational excellence, high level of performance and excellent internal customer service

  • Review, guarantee and enforce the appropriate level of training for the team

  • Back-up warehouse personnel as needed including receiving, shipping and material handling

  • Own, review and approve the warehouse Standard Operating Procedures guaranteeing the respect of Quality, Compliance and Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements

  • Participate in EHS program to review EHS performance and to identify and implement preventive and corrective actions

  • Investigate Warehouse-related Quality events including Corrective Actions Preventive Actions (CAPA) processes and change controls

  • Support and participate in corporate and regulatory inspections

  • Manage cycle count. Review discrepancies identified during cycle counting and define proper corrective actions

  • Ensure timely and accurate inventory transactions in the system

  • Demonstrated experience in a biotech/pharmaceutical manufacturing environment with a solid understanding of cGMP requirements

  • Key partner to Global Logistics, Manufacturing teams, Purchasing and Planning

  • Key contact to downstream and upstream departments Requirements: Education and/or Experience : Essential:

  • More than 5 years of experience in Warehouse operations with strong preference for experience in a GMP or similarly regulated business environment Desired:

  • One to three years’ supervisory experience preferred

  • Lean green belt

  • BA/BS in Supply Chain, Business or in an related field or equivalent experience
