JOB TITLE:

Facilities Manager

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Vice President of Operations

STATUS: Part-time, 37.5 hrs/week, 52 wks/year, Regular, Non-Exempt

PURPOSE: Will oversee the daily operations of the College's physical plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintain all campus grounds, facilities, and vehicles.
  2. Oversee Preventative Maintenance: Manage the preventative maintenance program, ensuring all equipment is maintained, repaired, and appropriately documented to sustain a safe environment.
  3. Purchase and stock custodial and maintenance supplies.
  4. Oversee snow removal.
  5. Provide landscaping work as needed.
  6. Maintain necessary facilities-related records.
  7. Ensure Safety and Compliance: Maintain property safety systems, ensuring they are up to code, regularly inspected, and compliant with all safety regulations.
  8. Manage Property Operations: Oversee property operating expenses, manage third-party contractors, and ensure all services and capital projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
  9. Lead and Train Staff: Provide leadership and training to maintenance staff, ensuring high performance and compliance with safety and operational protocols.
  10. Monitor building security and safety by locking doors before and/or after operating hours.
  11. Provide input regarding new campus structures and master plan development.
  12. Service Class A well system.
  13. Supervise summer work teams as work host and first point of contact for projects and purchasing.
  14. Stay within the approved budget for all expenditures.
  15. Maintains a clean, safe, and unobstructed workspace.
  16. Must have a clean driving record. (Please see definitions per our insurance carrier) There have been no major moving violations in the past three years. No more than one at-fault accident in the past three years.
  17. Develop and maintain the standard operation procedures (SOP) manual for this position.
  18. Carries out other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be a high school graduate or have a GED.
  2. Able to effectively supervise others.
  3. Hold a Department of Conservation Class A well certificate.
  4. Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  5. Must understand and maintain confidentiality of all information seen or heard.
  6. Detail-oriented, with high accuracy and skill in all work performed.
  7. Functions well in a cross-cultural environment, has a teachable attitude, is willing to be a team player.
  8. Must be able to work independently and show good judgment.
  9. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  10. Must be organized, efficient, and show good time management skills.
  11. Must be reliable and dependable with regular, timely attendance.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

These duties will be conducted in both an outdoor and interior environment. There may be exposure to hazardous materials. The majority of the shift will be spent standing. Must have adequate sight to meet the responsibilities of the job. Must be able to lift 60 pounds on an occasional basis.

DRESS CODE:

Sturdy, work appropriate attire is required. Jeans are acceptable as long as they are clean and well-kept. Appropriate footwear is necessary for safety. If any questions arise regarding what is appropriate, speak with the superv sor.
