Abbott Therapy Development Manager - Heart Failure (West of UK) in Solihull, United Kingdom

A superb opportunity has arisen to support the development of the UK Heart Failure (HF) business as Therapy Development Manager across the West of the UK.

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for activities within the Heart Failure division, to include LVAD busines, CardioMEMS and short term MCS / ECMO, covering the West of the UK and therefore involves significant travel.

  • The role will also be responsible for developing and delivering coordinated internal and external messaging regarding Abbott Medical’s value proposition in Heart Failure therapy.

  • Therapy and Market Development: Supporting and developing strategic implanting centers and educating referring physicians on indications for LVADs, Short Term support, and CardioMEMS

  • Educational Support: Develop Heart Failure education programme for UK&I markets in collaboration with wider HF team.

  • Key Account & commercial management of implanting centres, their physicians and key opinion leaders within the territory.

  • Work alongside our European colleagues, sharing best practice, and contributing to the development of strategy and marketing initiatives across the HF business.

  • The role provides technical, clinical, educational and sales support to ensure safe adoption and growth of the technology, so you will be required to become a therapy expert on Abbott HF devices, technology, patient indications, patient selection and reimbursement.

  • Assist in education/training activities with physicians, support staff and stay abreast of and communicate relevant clinical data.

  • Cross divisional collaboration, to help maximize revenue and opportunities across the portfolio, as well as with colleagues in the Market Access Division to ensure coordinated activity.

  • Provide forecasting of implant activity.

  • Provide market intelligence for fine-tuning of therapy training and expansion plans. Build and maintain relationship with referral sources to grow and establish a healthy base of business.

  • Responsible for the day to day management of distributor relations.

  • Responsible for day to day management and interactions with national procurement groups.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or relevant experience;

  • Prior field sales experience, ideally in a clinically complex therapy area, required, as well as a good understanding of medical device industry operations and procedures;

  • A comprehensive ability to analyze and evaluate technologically complex devices;

  • Ability to work with others effectively;

  • Documented record of delivering strategic marketing information;

  • Expert verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills;

  • Professional training/education certification or designation preferred.
