The Compensation Specialist is responsible for leading work that supports several compensation processes such as pay recommendations, market pricing and survey participation. The specialist will perform audits and the documentation of procedures and maintain timelines for departmental projects. The specialist will also work to assist the compensation team with various compensation-related projects. Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned or requested.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administers standard compensation programs to maintain competitive practices.
Recommends and implements compensation practices to support the business in collaboration with compensation team and external partners across the organization to understand business needs.
Partners with HRIS and Shared Services to ensure accuracy of data in mySwagelok and assists with large data uploads to support cyclical compensation processes.
Evaluates compensation program and makes recommendations in line with Swagelok’s compensation philosophy.
Prepares data in requested format.
Responsible for review and approval of standard compensation wage changes.
Responsible for program compliance through maintenance of compensation documentation and logs.
Assists in supporting the facilitation of annual compensation planning processes and administration of program.
Serve as the primary source for running weekly or ad hoc reports for the compensation team.
Ensures compliance through participation in audit processes for compensation work completed by the team.
Completes salary surveys and performs analysis of survey data.
Supports the compensation team through market pricing or data reporting for leadership as requested.
Researches and gathers data for reports and graphs.
Provides support for special projects, performs research, and assists with other tasks as needed.
Collaborates with the team to accomplish related results as required.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s in Business/HR or other related discipline.
0-2+ years of professional work experience
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Experience with spreadsheet analysis
A strong attention to detail
Analytical mindset with an emphasis on critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal customers and external vendors.
Preferred: Previous experience with Human Resources and compensation systems/tools, or experience in financial reporting.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
Working conditions associated with normal office environment.
Ability to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, telephone, copier, printer, etc.).
Ability to effectively communicate in both small and large groups and settings.
Ability to traverse between multiple locations in Ohio and Pennsylvania as needed.
Occasional domestic and/or international travel may be required.
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
