Eaton Corporation Production Supervisor-3rd Shift in South Bend, Indiana

Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor-3rd Shift. This position is based at our South Bend, IN facility.

The Production Supervisor is responsible to lead, facilitate and coordinate the production activities and resources per established practices and/or policies within their job area to ensure the timely delivery of quality parts that meet or exceed customer expectations while keeping safety first. Establishes and maintains a positive employee relations environment by adherence to Eaton’s Values, Ethics, and Philosophies. Clearly communicates expectations and consistently holds self and employees accountable for performance.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

  • Proactively implements, promotes and maintains a safe working environment through diligence in accident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and rule enforcement.

  • Coordinates, leverages and appropriately utilizes resources with other managers or coaches such as maintenance, materials, scheduling, logistics and engineering, to resolve manufacturing problems, improve processes and meet external and internal customer demands.

  • Drives the company’s vision and mission by reinforcing ethics, values, and quality policies throughout their area of responsibility. Aligns workforce to the company vision through Eaton Philosophy workplace practices and beliefs that build trust, mutual respect and teamwork between employees at all levels of the organization.

  • Acts as a business partner by planning, initiating, leading, measuring, monitoring and assessing continuous improvement programs and manufacturing process improvements by applying appropriate Eaton Business System (EBS) processes and problem solving tools such as ELS (Eaton Lean System) and 6S.

  • Promotes a quality culture by demonstrating customer focus and regularly communicating customer feedback to employees in order to facilitate collaborative problem solving, drive continuous quality improvement and ensure alignment/compliance with industry standards. When quality issues arise this position has the authority to stop the press if needed to conduct root cause analysis.

  • Actively participates in setting, communicating and achieving department goals and objectives and develops and maintains performance metrics as required to monitor results and uses those results as a tool to identify and initiate process improvements within own work area. Coordinates and/or participates in continuous improvement teams in own or other areas to enhance plant results.

  • Acts to positively communicate the policies, practices, changes and decisions of management while fairly and consistently applying policies and practices to all employees.

  • Motivates and coaches employees to maintain high levels of satisfaction, productivity and quality through effectively utilizing available rewards and recognition channels to encourage and promote desired behaviors and results.

  • Demonstrates an appreciation for similarities and individual differences and supports a culture of inclusion that leverages the potential of all employees.

Qualifications:

Required Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a team lead position and/or supervisory position within a production/manufacturing environment

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future

  • No relocation is being offered for this position. Only candidates that reside within a 50 mile radius of South Bend, IN will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with lean manufacturing in production/manufacturing environment

  • Two (2) years or higher of supervisory experience in a production/manufacturing environment

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Skills

  • Demonstrated technical understanding of production planning techniques, current quality methods, OSHA requirements and accounting principles

  • Ability to frequently move and/or lift forgings and dies weighing from 3-36lbs

  • Ability to stand or walk during shift

  • Ability to hear and talk to other teammates while working
