About the role
We are looking for a pro-active and motivated Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our growing Brisbane team. The successful applicant will have experience delivering sustainability on projects within the buildings sector.
The role will enable the successful applicant to continue to develop in a professional and personal sense and to forge a career path in a successful, award-winning consultancy. While the role will be focused on the property and buildings sector, there are opportunities to support the delivery of infrastructure sustainability as well as support broader carbon and climate change consulting work.
Day to day tasks would involve:
Represent Stantec externally to Clients, playing a senior and active role in managing these relationships.
Develop sustainability programs and performance reporting against rating schemes (e.g. Green Star, NABERS, ISC, WELL) through feasibility, design, tender, construction and commissioning.
Work closely and develop trusted relationships with other project stakeholders, notably architects, contractors, builders and end users to achieve efficient and cost-effective solutions with a high-quality outcome.
Provide support and mentoring to more junior staff members.
Delegate tasks to junior engineers, provide feedback and contribute to their development
Lead and deliver sustainability related projects, clearly communicate sustainability recommendations and options to clients and project teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attend project meetings
Contribute to the overall strategy and development of the Sustainability team and to our company culture.
Adhere to Stantec professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures
To be successful for this role you'll need:
Experience and understanding of Australian Standards, National Construction Code etc.
Proficient in building simulation software such as IESVE, EnergyPlus, TAS, or similar.
Working knowledge of industry standard rating schemes such as Green Star, NABERS, Climate Active.
Good communicator and confident in bringing in work and business development.
Self-motivated and ability to deliver work with limited supervision.
Successfully manages multiple deadlines and priorities.
Ideally have a university degree in Engineering, Environmental Management, Sustainability or related discipline.
Understanding of climate change resilience and adaptation methodologies.
Desire to understand the whole of life asset strategies and design.
