You will be instrumental in helping close out grants, assist with backlogged reconciliation, and additional projects. Job Description:
We are currently in search of a dedicated and experienced Grant Accountant to join our financial team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in grant accounting within a non-profit or government industry. They will be extensively familiar with the application, monitoring, and reporting of grants as per federal, state, and local regulations.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and manage all aspects of grant-related financial statements and reports.
Monitor and analyze the expenditure of grant funds for compliance with the budget.
Coordinate with program personnel to ensure financial reporting requirements are met.
Review and approve grant budgets, amendments, and budget reallocations.
Develop and present financial analysis and reports for management.
Prepare various financial analysis, as needed for grant applications.
Implement and monitor internal controls over grant revenues and expenses.
Maintain a complete, well-organized, and up-to-date grant financial file archive.
Conduct financial training for program directors and project managers regarding grant management as required.
Work with external auditors on the annual audit and grant-specific audits.
Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years' experience in grant accounting within the non-profit or government sector.
Comprehensive knowledge of grant policies, procedures, and regulations.
Exceptional knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations preferred.
Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team.
Excellent attention to detail and discretion with confidential information.
