Kelly Services in partnership with a premier local college, is looking for multiple Facility Technicians in the Royal Oak/Southfield area ! These are direct hire opportunities, meaning you will be hired permanently with our client and offered their benefit package once hired.

The Facility Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of the college physical plant and facilities. This position performs a variety of architectural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, maintenance, and boiler operator assignments.

Details:

  • Day shift: M-F 6am – 2:30pm

  • Afternoon shift: M-Th 2:30pm – 11pm; Fri 9:30am – 6pm

Description:

  • Operate, maintain, and repair a variety of plumbing, lighting, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment efficiently.

  • Operate and maintain air handlers, unit ventilators, and other HVAC equipment.

  • Operate and maintain chillers, cooling towers, chilled water pumping systems, and refrigeration equipment.

  • Conduct tests on water properties and treat closed loop systems and cooling towers with water treatment chemicals.

  • Operate and maintain boilers, heat exchangers, heating water pumping systems, and related equipment.

  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal functioning and longevity.

  • Utilize building automation/DDC system to monitor and control equipment for efficient operation.

  • Assist in construction and renovation projects.

  • Weld or braze as required to repair and fabricate components.

  • Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment.

  • Be available for on-call duty and work additional hours as needed to address emergencies or complete critical tasks.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Four (4) years of documented, directly related work experience.

  • High Pressure Boiler Operator's license or Stationary Engineer license.

  • Must also possess and maintain a current and valid Michigan driver’s license.

  • Ability to efficiently perform repairs on plumbing, lighting, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment.

  • Ability to maintain appropriate safety standards.

  • Ability to provide direction to others.

  • Welding skills to the satisfaction of the supervisor or successful completion of a welding course.
