Exciting Opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer II in the Aerospace Industry!

Our client, a leader in the aerospace industry, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to join their team. As a Mechanical Engineer II, you will be part of the Eaton Research Labs supporting the Engineering and Operations Teams. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to resolving issues which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer II

Location: Soutfield, MI

Pay Range: $ 43-48/hr

What’s the Job?

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of assigned tasks in a timely and proficient manner.

  • Develop and sustain new processes associated with polymer additive manufacturing and printed electronics.

  • Support the engineering team in producing additively manufactured (AM) parts for projects.

  • Construct and test prototypes and designs, presenting data efficiently and accurately to the engineering team.

  • Maintain laboratory equipment, machines, and material inventories needed for experimental work.

What’s Needed?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with some manufacturing/production experience.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of experience in polymer additive manufacturing, such as FDM (FFF and FGF) and SLA processes or printed electronics.

  • Basic understanding of computer systems and networks, data analysis, and Microsoft Office skills.

  • Demonstrates effective communication with peers and management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with materials testing and test equipment such as tensile load frame, fatigue, rheology, TGA, DSC, DMA.

  • Knowledge and familiarity with a range of polymers and polymer processing technology.

  • Understanding of 3D printing and screen printing of electronics.
