This position will follow our hybrid work model, we expect the selected candidate to be in office 2-3 days a week at one of the following Corporate Office locations: St. Petersburg, FL; Southfield, MI.

Job Summary:

The Systems Automation Engineer collaborates with IT Architecture and key stakeholders to understand the future state of systems, processes, and applications, with the objective of automating their monitoring and self-healing capabilities. This role involves researching innovative processes for monitoring, alerting, and resolving errors across all enterprise applications. Additionally, the engineer will work alongside a team of engineers to develop effective resolution processes. The primary goals are to minimize operational toil and enhance the stability of enterprise applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the evaluation and implementation of new products and technologies, which typically cover a wide variety of enterprise-class infrastructure disciplines.

  • Researches and recommends innovative technologies and approaches for enterprise infrastructure management, upgrades, or improvements while adhering to technical or budgetary constraints.

  • Analyzes system requirements, including identifying interactions and appropriate interfaces between affected components and sub-systems.

  • Proactively plans the capacity of platforms and applications.

  • Obtains and evaluates information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine software and hardware configuration.

  • Participates in software system testing, validation procedures, programming, and documentation.

  • May participate in projects including preparing project plans, assigning tasks, monitoring statuses, coordinating efforts, validating team recommendations, integrating efforts into a comprehensive strategy, and delivering results on time.

  • Writes and/or reviews system specifications, including output requirements, flow charts, and technical diagrams.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required:

  • Strong experience with C#, .NET, python

  • Experience developing REST API's, understanding of REST architecture, knowledge of integration

  • Windows and Linux Server and Workstation Operating Systems.

  • Security best practices for Windows-based systems, including PKI principles and components.

  • Storage Area Network technologies.

  • IP network design practices and principles.

  • Messaging concepts and components, including SMTP mail, web-based mail, and Instant Messaging.

  • Backup and restore technologies.

Preferred:

  • JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, Angular, SQL

  • Virtualization concepts and technologies.

  • Has working knowledge of core monitoring tools: Dynatrace SaaS, DataDog, Splunk, SevOne

  • Other assigned area knowledge and systems.

Education and Previous Experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related degree and two (2) years of relevant experience in an assigned area or combination of education, experience, and training.
