Robert Half Assistant Controller in Southlake, Texas
Description Robert Half is currently accepting applications for an achievement-oriented Assistant Controller to join a well-respected company. The Assistant Controller reports to the Controller on accounting staff updates. This is the Assistant Controller position for you if you are a self-starter with a history of successfully identifying issues and resolving problems. Your responsibilities in this role
Progressive preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits
Formulate relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like actual spend against budgets/outlook, key financial metrics, and the monthly flash report
Support accountability and the meeting of deliverables
Steer the accounting team during the closing process to warrant deadlines are met
Provide regular account reconciliation to completion
Maintain implementation and insure adherence to accounting policies and procedures
Determine and form process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency
Direct to ensure a competent, trained staff through goal setting, development, and regular assessment
Backfill for Controller when necessary
Supplementary duties as assigned
Set up various technical accounting analyses, procedures, and policies
Be instrumental in the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting
Review and establish Ad Hoc financial reports Requirements - Bank reconciliations experience
Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel
General ledger experience
Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)
Balance Sheet Reconciliation experience
Deep technical background in public accounting (GAAP)
Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Certified Public Accounting license or exams in progress
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company
- Proficient in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Considerable accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
7+ years of general ledger accounting experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
