CANYON VIEW MEDICAL Facilities Maintenance Technician in SPANISH FORK, Utah
Description
Canyon View Medical is seeking the services of a Facilities Maintenance Technician. This position is primarily responsible for responding to maintenance requests and performing preventative maintenance at all facilities within Canyon View Medical to ensure the safety and comfort of patients, visitors, and staff.
Primary Responsibilities
Performs troubleshooting and repairs, adjustments to locks, door hinges, heating-ventilation-air conditioning units, electrical and plumbing systems.
Reports mechanical malfunctions to Facilities Manager for action.
Assists in construction, installation, repair and maintenance of clinic equipment and fixtures.
Assists Facility Manager by conducting routine audits of the facility to evaluate support systems and make recommendations for repairs and improvements.
Carpentry: Performs basic rough and finished carpentry work in construction and repair of structures such as partitions, walls, doors, fences, office furniture, roofs, and shelves.
Electrical: Performs basic electrical installation and repair work in wiring switches, outlets, plugs, cables, power circuits and appliances; repairs lighting systems; inspects electrical systems for unsafe conditions.
Plumbing/Painting: Identifies and performs basic repairs of plumbing leaks or breaks, opens clogged lines and drains; replaces washers and other minor parts; applies and prepares various surfaces for painting. Repairs wall coverings.
Maintains property grounds and landscaping.
Requirements
Prior work experience in buildings and facilities maintenance.
A valid driver's license and ability to drive an automobile.
Ability to work independently and recognize issues, bring to management's attention with recommended solutions with costs.
Knowledge of methods used in maintenance including basic skills of the following trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, grounds-keeping, electrical wiring, standard practices and tools used in the maintenance and repair of building facilities; safety practices and procedures related to the building trades.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Effectively use a variety of hand and power tools, read blueprints, follow verbal and written instructions, communicate effectively in both oral and written form, maintain work logs and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those in the course of work assignments.
