Compensation for the Mechanical Design Engineer

 

  • $70,000 - $90,000 Annually DOE

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer

 

  • Work with our entire engineering team to develop, design, draft, test and deliver the highest-level quality aerospace parts and tooling
  • Work with the team engineers directly and provide critical assistance including being exposed to testing, design, tooling, and actual manufacturing
  • Collaborate with engineers to continually improve the manufacturing process by analyzing problems reported and developing improvements to overcome them
  • Partner with tool and die machine shop to address and resolve outcome variations or design-related issues during manufacturing
  • Development of engineering and manufacturing specifications and drawings, using technical writing skills
  • Assist manufacturing leadership with engineering needs
  • Drafting; primarily using PTC Creo and Onshape software
  • Other duties as assigned

     

Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer

 

  • BS (Bachelors) in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of related Engineering experience, aerospace experience preferred but not required
  • FEA experience preferable
  • Very detail oriented with a strong drive for continuous improvement
  • Strong computer skills, including MS-Office
  • Prior drafting and modeling experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Previous experience with Aerospace metals or sheet metal a plus
  • Previous experience with Aerospace quality systems and controls
  • Previous experience with process investigation, characterizations, and optimization
  • Previous exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Desire to work in a team environment
