THE ARC OF SPOKANE Administrative Assistant, (Supported Employment & Community Inclusion Programs) in Spokane, Washington

The Arc of Spokane is seeking an individual to join a dynamic team to help The Arc of Spokane support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a unique way! The Arc is one of the leading service providers in the Inland Northwest and we are looking for a dynamic problem solver who is great with people and spreadsheets.  We are seeking someone who enjoys administrative work, someone who enjoys helping support people maintain inclusive employment in the community, and enjoys helping clients, staff, and leadership to accomplish their goals and duties.   

*Position Information: *To provide job coaching and some administrative assistance duties to the Supported Employment program including electronic file management, document management, billing, planning and service-coordination support to clients in the various programs. Our programs put The Arc's vision and values into action.  When we say, "Inclusive Community.  Every Life Fulfilled," that's what our County Programs teams work for everyday with an amazing, diverse clientele.  The Arc's core values of inclusion, advocacy, person-centered, dignity, and quality of life are how we approach both our work in the community with clients, and our staff.  

Creativity: Working closely with our clients and their support team to identify client skills, strengths, interests, and support needs.

Writing Skill: Creating or assisting in written service plan for each client that describes the strategies and specific steps that lead to finding and/or maintaining successful employment with input from the client and their team.  Along with daily case notes recording your activities and other documentation as necessary. Initiative: Assisting in resume preparation, application submission, and interview skills to match clients to jobs in the community that fit their needs and abilities; ensuring success for both the employee and the employer.

Organization: Assisting clients who have jobs in maintaining attendance, communication, and mastering their job responsibilities; coaches may also arrange transportation for their clients.

This position supports a director, a manager and other employment staff with communication, logical and practical support. The Admin Assistant will focus on billable documentation, record keeping, planning and reporting functions while aiding in billing, scheduling, and other various administrative tasks. 

This position will be accomplished at The Arc's main building in Downtown Spokane and in the community to support clients as needed. This position will support clients in maintaining their jobs and may require support in attendance, communication, and mastering their job responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Possess excellent organizational, administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently.
  • Positive, collaborative attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize time.
  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Must be committed to self-advocacy and personal choice for individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Experience as a receptionist, administrative assistant, with data entry experience and/or familiarity with customer management software is a big plus. 
  • Experience working with persons with developmental disabilities is also desired.
