A direct support professional (DSP)is a person who works with people who are affected by a developmental disability. A DSP helps to teach appropriate social skills, behaviour management, life skills, and supports the people we work with to become the most independent person they can be. The site manager for a home is responsible for implementing plans that apply to the clients as well as managing the staffing needs for the home. You must be able to be flexible and consistent, calm and encouraging, and be able to follow plans while also making sound decisions on the go.
