About the Role:

An Information Security Analyst is responsible for assisting management in the development and implementation of Network policies and procedures, monitoring and reporting, and communicating virtual threats as realized with the protection of customer information and corporate assets through vigilant security administration of the Bank’s security systems.

  • Manage the maintenance of systems to protect data from unauthorized users

  • Safeguard customer information and corporate and information assets from misuse and abuse from internal and external threats

  • Identify, report, and resolve security violations

  • Quickly evaluate the impact of system errors or failures, organize and prioritize corrective action, and work through all problems to an acceptable solution

  • Use knowledge of information security standards and best practices to assist management in the creation of persuasive policy and procedures to influence Bank culture

  • Maintain familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures

  • Function as a front line representative of Corporate Security Administration leading by example, being diplomatic yet firm, fair, flexible, and consistent in deploying industry standard information, security best practices, and applicable banking laws and regulations

  • Act as a stakeholder for projects involving Corporate Security and skillfully communicate industry standard best practices within WCB

  • Proactively and regularly share information and knowledge with Corporate Security management and the Security Consortium

  • Perform and assess risk to Bank information assets and systems

  • Establish, monitor, and review the mission critical daily, monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annual Network reports.

  • Represent Corporate Security in providing solutions related to specific projects and procedures

  • Regularly work with Network Administration to evaluate network security and adherence to corporate standards

  • Regularly evaluate user and group accounts.

  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.

  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.

  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

  • Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Required.

  • 1 year of experience in an information security role or a recent computer science college graduate studying computer science. Preferred

  • Background in security administration, including the ability to establish policies and standards.

  • Knowledge of banking regulations and how to perform risk assessments.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong task management skills.

  • Analytical and problem resolution skills.

  • Ability to react quickly to situations caused by system errors or failures.

  • Software skills: MS Windows Professional, IDS Penetration and Intrusion testing, Microsoft Office including VB, SourceSafe, and SQL.

  • Able to be on call 24-hours for designated shifts.

  • Knowledge of project management principles.

  • Valid state driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and ability to meet company driving requirements.

  • Ability to meet bonding requirements for employment purposes.

  • Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP) certification or similar. Preferred.

Our Benefits:

We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $68,000.00-$72,000.00 and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
