*The Community Colleges of Spokane is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Instructional Designer in the District e-Learning Division. *

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the District Director of eLearning, the Instructional Designer is responsible for supporting faculty teaching online, hybrid, and web-enhanced courses in advancement of the CCS Strategic Plan. This position consults with faculty to design/redesign high quality learning environments based on sound adult learning theory and instructional design practices while promoting the effective use of technology in teaching and learning.

Major areas of focus include: 

  • course design consultation
  • faculty professional development in teaching pedagogy and technologies
  • constructive course reviews 
  • the integration of new educational technologies into curriculum.

The instructional designer is well-versed in adult learning theory, pedagogical strategies, instructional design models, and instructional technology.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with faculty and apply instructional design practices to design or improve courses using recognized best practices: Integrating course objectives and learning outcomes to enhance student success; integrating media, streaming content, and other educational technologies as appropriate; following online accessibility standards; participating in and guiding selection, development, and maintenance of online learning content to promote learning student achievement, equity, and inclusion. *
