Description The Senior Certified Nursing Assistant (CNAII) functions within their scope of practice under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse to assist in providing care and implementing delegated activities of the nursing plan. This position demonstrates an understanding of basic nursing skills and skills unique to the assigned clinical unit(s). In addition, under the general direction of the Nursing Unit management team, supports the operations of the nursing unit by serving as the receptionist / Concierge for patients and visitors, answering incoming phone calls and call lights, monitoring supply inventory and ordering and stocking supplies. Following orientation, the incumbent assumes delegated responsibility which may include (but not be limited to) such tasks as: meeting the hygienic, nutritional, elimination, activity, comfort and safety needs of patients; obtains and reports vitals signs (TPR and BP); performs urine reductions, transports (transfers, discharges) patients; obtains supplies/equipment as necessary from designated departments. With documented competencies may perform additional tasks delegated by the RN such as: routine glucose finger sticks, removal of urinary catheter, oral suctioning, measure and record output of drains, etc. Individualizes patient care using age related concepts based on the unit population assigned for infants (1 month to Age 1) toddlers (1-2 years), preschoolers (3-5 years) school age (6-12 years), adolescents (ages 13-17) and adult patients including early adult (ages 18-35) middle adult (ages 36-65) and older adult (ages 66+) by applying age related concepts including knowledge of growth and development, safety needs, collection of data, treatments and care typically required. Utilizes age related concepts when communicating with patients and families, maintaining a safe environment, and using medical equipment and supplies. Required Qualifications: Upon hire: Washington Nursing Assistant Certification License Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association 1 year Certified Nursing Assistance experience. Preferred Qualifications: 1 year Secretary in healthcare, or Health Unit Coordinator experience. With atleast 5 years experience working with Gamma Knife. Why Join Providence?
