SUMMARY: This position is responsible for managing and supervising all the various aspects associated with the Chemistry Department in a FSLS Corporate Laboratory. The work requires application of original and independent thinking in developing moderately complex results or outputs. Responsibilities include: managing a laboratory QA program; laboratory safety; customer relations; ordering supplies; billing; equipment and facility maintenance; personnel supervision; miscellaneous administrative tasks.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: BS in Chemistry or related science discipline with 4+ years of progressive experience in the field of expertise, or advanced degree with 2+ years of progressive experience.
Experience: 5 + years laboratory with specific experience in chromagraphy instrumentation (gas and liquid) paired with tandem mass spectroscopy (MS/MS). Experience with method development/validation on mass spectroscopy is required. Supervisory experience is preferred.
Computer Skills: Standard computer skills; ability to generate technical letters, spreadsheets, word processing documents, and simple data queries; LabWare LIMS working knowledge required.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal skills; must be able to communicate with people at all levels of management.
Supervisory: Supervises analysts performing chemical analysis. Travel: One or two 2 day trips per year.
Location: This position will be based in Springdale, Arkansas. Relocation assistance will be provided for those who meet the Tyson relocation policy.
