This position serves as theIT Projects & Initiatives Managerfor the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) supporting the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA), responsible for leading highly complex software system development projects and other major technical initiatives. The individual in this position will utilize their skills in business analysis and project management to manage multiple projects and initiatives, relying on their experience in areas such as Communication Management, Resource Management, Information Technology Governance, Stakeholder Management, Quality Management, Procurement Management and Risk Management to guide the project or initiative to successful completion.
Essential Functions
- Under administrative direction, serves as the IT Projects & Initiatives Manager for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), supporting the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA), organizing, planning, executing, controlling, and evaluating highly complex software system development and implementation projects for the DoIT/IEPA team and IEPA
- Coordinates work required to successfully complete DoIT/IEPA and IEPA information technology initiatives, including but not limited to, audits, risk assessments, business impact analysis, implementations, upgrades, conversions, documentation gathering, and disaster recovery/business continuity planning.
- Assists the CIO and IEPA personnel in the development of DoIT/IEPAs and IEPAs short-term and long-range plans for software system improvements.
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
