Curia Principal Process Engineer in Springfield, Missouri

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervise a team of process engineers, providing technical guidance and assistance in resolving process-related issues. Ensure that all projects undertaken by the team adhere to appropriate process engineering techniques.

  • Offer process engineering support to various departments including Production, Maintenance, Research & Development, and Environmental Health and Safety as needed.

  • Manage and execute process engineering initiatives aimed at improving plant operations and addressing environmental concerns.

  • Assist in the development and training of process engineers, enabling them to quickly grasp Curia's preferred methods and consistently deliver high-quality work.

  • Lead cross-functional teams in executing special projects, fostering collaboration among team members from different departments.

  • Provide oversight and supervision of engineering firms and contractors when necessary.

  • Identify and implement methods to enhance product and service quality.

  • Engage in continuous self-development activities and contribute to the training of others.

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by maintaining awareness and adhering to safe work practices. Ensure a safe and clean working environment for employees and visitors,

  • Develop, write, lead and execute IQ, OQ, PQ protocol validations.

  • Develop, and lead comprehensive FMEA “Failure Modes and Effects Analysis” for current and new processes

  • Perform any other relevant duties as required in the normal course of business or as instructed by supervisors or management.

Education and/or Experience

  • BS in chemistry. chemical engineering or related area

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in process engineering in pharmaceuticals, specialty chemical or related industry

  • Strong knowledge chemistry and unit operation

Language/Communication Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay rate: $117,000 - $145,900

Education, experience, location and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
