PeaceHealth is seeking a Assistant Nurse Manager - Emergency Department for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Evening position (1500-2330). The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $58.88 – $88.32. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

The position is responsible for providing managerial assistance to the Nurse Manager. This position is directly accountable to the Nurse Manager and is responsible for support in the following areas: hiring; staffing and scheduling; orientation; performance assessment; budget monitoring; maintaining and establishing patient care standards; policies and procedures.

Details of the position:

  • Demonstrates compassion, respect and caring while working within the scope of Registered Nurse Practice to provide individualized, safe and efficient care to patients and assistance to their families and visitors. Proactively implement measures to promote a safety climate on the unit, considering the inter-relationship of people, tools, and environment in which are is provided.

  • Provide leadership, management, and communication skills to department.

  • Assist Nurse Manager in planning, recommendation, and implementation of clinical service delivery. Recommend policy changes which enhance nursing ability to achieve top quartile performance.

  • Assist Nurse Manager with the staff supervision, counseling and documentation of personnel actions.

  • Assist Nurse Manager with the evaluation of work performance and performance assessments.

  • Promote, establish and maintain open communication.

  • Assist Nurse Manager with budget monitoring.

  • Assist with the supervision and direction of the department Clinical Educator.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you bring:

  • Accredited School of Nursing Required

  • Bachelor's Degree Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

  • Minimum of 3 years Required: applicable nursing experience

  • Minimum of 2 years Preferred: supervisory/leadership experience in healthcare organization

  • Preferred: Financial and budgetary experience

  • Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support

  • Required: Registered Nurse in state of practice

  • Preferred: Specialty certification

Department / Location Specific Notes

Oregon West Network

  • BSN required within 6 months of hire.

  • Unit certification may be required in the following areas:

  • Emergency – ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS required within 6 months of hire

  • SHMC RB – At request of Clinical Leadership, ED Assistant Nurse Manager for this specific location may be assigned the additional role of Assistant Nurse Manager for Clinical Decision Unit and will have CareConnect access to support this function.

Emergency Department

  • Minimum of three years of Emergency nursing experience required.

  • On an interim basis, at the request of Clinical leadership, ED Assistant Nurse Manger for this specific location may have interim RT Supervisor responsibilities and will have CareConnect access to support this function.
