Cabela's Sr Manager Environmental Health & Safety in Springfield, United States
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sr. Manager, Environmental Health and Safety - Environmental position is responsible for overseeing environmental compliance programs across all retail, supply chain and manufacturing facilities. Critical responsibilities include policy/procedure development and implementation, program development and maintenance, regulatory response management as well as environmental technical support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develops and maintains environmental programs in a manner that meets or exceeds code requirements
Leads the development of the environmental compliance related strategies across all business areas
Manages environmental related services that support the effective operation of facilities and ensure code compliance with local and/or state regulations
Supports all training related to environmental programs such as RCRA and Hazmat
Develops and maintains all monitoring programs in the environmental space
Proactively monitors the environmental related regulatory arena and leads any program changes that result from evolving rules
Supports company sustainability efforts and any sustainability related reporting obligations
Develops environmental related policies, procedures and other related support and reference materials
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in an environmental related field
Experience: Minimum 8 years experience that includes RCRA and Hazmat
Certifications: CHMM, Hazmat and related waste and DOT certifications)
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- 15%
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, ability to climb, crawl, bend over, minimum capacity to lift 50lbs.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :
Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans.
