Join Sonix, a subsidiary of Tektronix and Fortive, as the Director of Operations and lead our dynamic team in delivering high-performance products that shape the future of technology. Reporting to the Vice President of North Americas Operations, you will oversee the overall Plant Operations for Sonix, managing a low volume, high mix, high complexity environment. Our products leverage scanning acoustic microscopy technology for semiconductor wafer and package inspection as well as industrial inspection applications. Sonix is experiencing significant growth and is scaling to meet the global demand for our products.
As the Director of Operations, you will lead multiple functions including Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Planning, and Procurement, and Quality. This position is responsible for daily operations, including achieving safety, quality, delivery (on-time delivery), cost targets, and on-going continuous improvement. As part of the operations leadership team, you will develop organizational strategies and implement policies, processes, and procedures to improve performance, efficiency, and the overall organization. You will also collaborate with Product Engineering, Test Engineering, R&D, and Commercial teams to deliver on plant objectives.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Contribute to the creation and implementation of the Plant strategy and the plant's overall charter to significantly grow and scale the business.
Vision and Purpose: Support vision and purpose; provide direction needed to operationalize and drive to action.
Decision Making: Initiates make-or-buy investigations and facilitates decision-making and necessary follow-on execution to align with strategic direction.
Continuous Improvement: Plan and execute, through the management team, improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
Policy Deployment: Create and monitor Policy Deployment by identifying Operations breakthroughs and ensuring action plans are resourced and achievable.
Lean Culture: Act as a Fortive Business System champion; promote the lean culture and drive continuous improvement initiatives for both manufacturing and back-office functions.
Resource Management: Acquire, align, and prioritize resources and budgets to meet production needs, new product introduction requirements, and customer expectations.
Procurement and Supply Chain: Provide guidance and input to Procurement to support the timely acquisition of materials. Assist in supply escalations as required.
Planning and Scheduling: Provide guidance and input to Planning and Scheduling teams to coordinate materials with production, considering backlog, forecast, material, and capacity.
Logistics Management: Provide guidance and input to Logistics Manager and Supply Chain functions to support accurate and timely receipt, shipment, and overall material management.
New Product Introduction: Oversee New Product Introduction (NPI) product transition from engineering to manufacturing and ensure operational readiness.
Capital Planning: Participate in corporate capital acquisition and planning processes.
Budget Management: Manage fixed and variable budgets, provide end-of-month variance reporting and analysis, absorption accounting analysis and forecasting, and corrective actions as required.
Talent Development: Partner with HR for organization and talent development, talent risk management, and succession planning.

Qualifications:
6-8+ years of progressive management experience required.
Cross-functional management experience with an emphasis on manufacturing, supply chain, and procurement.
BS Degree in technical, engineering, or management field required.
Master's degree in business or technical field desired.
Excellent communication skills demonstrated change management, crisis resolution.
Data and fact-based problem-solving skills, Lean Mfg./Fortive Business System/Danaher Business System/6-Sigma knowledge desired.
Excellent organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.
Strong written, verbal communication, interpersonal, analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
Proficient in computer skills (Microsoft Office products: Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
