McDermott Senior Cost Controls Specialist in Squamish, British Columbia
Job Overview:
The Senior Cost Controls Specialist uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve the costing discipline within McDermott. They will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and share their conceptual and practical expertise related to the cost discipline. The Senior Cost Controls Specialist solves complex problems and uses their discipline-specific knowledge to improve their products or services. The Senior Cost Controls Specialist impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities.
Salary Range: 103,815 - 120,543 CAD
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Validate progress in the field
Knowledge on quantities from either drawings or the model
Assist in loading the quantity tracking items into the earned value system
Help establish the proper level to track in the earned value system
Help develop quantity tracking items that will be identifiable to construction
Work with engineering to pull quantity data from engineering databases
Verify reported progress through site walk downs
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Project Management / Engineering / Construction / Business Management or equivalent combinations of technical training or experience required
10-15 years of EPCIC experience with Onshore or Offshore Oil and Gas or Power Generation related projects
Must be able to use advanced features in Excel (curves, histograms, dynamic tables, formulas, etc.)
Understands the project schedule and its relationship to cost and progress
Knowledge of EPC Contract Types (LS, Cost Plus, Reimb, etc..)
Ability to effectively communicate with team members and management
