The role
The Automation Engineer improves various manufacturing processes and computer systems through designing, developing, and implementing automation. This position will focus on improvement of the facilitys safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost.
How youll make an impact
Ensure the company follows ISO 9000 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 18001 (Health and Safety) standards.
Work with support and manufacturing teams to develop, test, and implement new automation systems to improve production.
Create product justification reports using quality data, time studies, ergonomic assessments, and employee data.
Find ways to improve manufacturing processes. Prioritize improvements and develop plans to make them happen.
Help manage projects by tracking progress, monitoring equipment, and analyzing methods. Work on reducing costs, fixing process issues, and controlling key aspects of production.
Encourage teamwork and cooperation within project groups.
Identify, evaluate, and fix equipment problems.
Ensure a safe and positive work environment by focusing on ongoing training, accident prevention, safety policy compliance, and safety investigations.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.

Ensure new automation equipment works reliably. Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance to upgrade existing equipment.
Communicate, document, and train employees on procedures, operating practices, and record-keeping systems.
Keep the work environment safe and clean by educating employees on equipment use and following OSHA safety procedures.
Keep your professional skills up to date by attending workshops, reading industry publications, and participating in team-building activities.
Ensure safety standards are followed when installing or updating automation equipment.
Perform other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
What do you bring
Degree in electrical, mechanical, computer engineering, or related field.
5 years of manufacturing or automation experience.
Experience with robotics, AI, machine learning, vision systems, and automation (preferred).
Project management experience with MS Project and SharePoint.
Proficient in CAD (AutoCAD preferred).
Familiar with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment and conduct system tests.
Experience with Lean Six Sigma and analytics tools.
Creative, collaborative, and tech-savvy.
Ability to work independently and in teams.
Organized with strong attention to detail.
Good dexterity and understanding of product/process attributes.
Strong communication skills.
