The role

The HR Generalist is the administrative expert and employee champion for a manufacturing site. This role will manage the day-to-day HR activities supporting the HR Managers, employees, and local site management in a wide variety of HR activities.

How youll make an impact

Manage employee relations, investigate and resolve issues in a timely and confidential manner.

Develop and ensure compliance with all company, federal, and state guidelines including FLSA, FMLA, VPFL, ADA, OSHA, and Workers Compensation.

Provide guidance and support to ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures; administer and interpret to ensure consistency.

Develop, implement and administer appropriate training opportunities for employee, career, and organizational development.

Lead site retention efforts by utilizing data to determine trends with turnover; and developing methods to address main reasons for turnover.

Conduct new hire orientation, process new hires into the HRIS system, and organize the onboarding process with department leaders.

Increase the use of HRIS by minimizing manual administration of tasks. Comprehend and utilize HRIS modules, reports, and electronic documentation.

Assist leadership in effective performance management including reviews, coaching, and counseling; advise on corrective actions. Support the HR Manager to ensure Talent Review and talent mapping. Assist with succession planning and career path utilization. Coordinate employee engagement and communication activities at the site or local community.

Assist with benefits administration and open enrollment activities as needed.

Administer leaves of absence to include FMLA, Short- and Long-Term Disability

Assist in the maintenance of employee files.

Advocate and support employees through ongoing HR initiatives and strong employee service levels; be the voice of the employee (VOE).

Proactively work with employees and managers to identify potential issues and trends in the workplace; partner with employees and managers to develop and deploy complex solutions.

Support site retention efforts by utilizing data to determine trends with turnover; and developing methods to address main reasons for turnover.

Demonstrate discretion, ability to work with sensitive and confidential materials, and possess good business judgment

What do you bring

Bachelors degree in HR, Business, or related field (or Associates with 5+ years progressive HR experience).

24 years in a similar role; manufacturing experience (24/7 preferred).

PHR certification preferred.

Skilled in employee relations, leave management, and conflict resolution.

Proven ability to build trust, influence others, and support organizational change.

Comfortable in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Strong multitasking, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, HRI , and ATS systems.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills at all levels.
