Corewell Health RN Clinical Data Specialist in St Joseph, Michigan
Part time position working 16 hours per week with a focus on Orthopedics. This role supports the total knee and total hip Ortho registry.
This is a hybrid position with a very minimal on-site requirement at Lakeland Hospital.
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented RN Clinical Database specialist to join our team with a primary focus on managing and optimizing data collection for Quality Improvement Registries. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring accuracy, completeness, and integrity of clinical data, as well as facilitating the analysis and sharing of outcomes for continuous improvement in patient safety and surgical practices. Job Summary
Supports routine/less complex operational improvement projects that are smaller in scope throughout the organization including both clinical and non-clinical areas to accomplish measurable business process improvements. Assists with analysis to measure the effectiveness of existing business and clinical processes and helps to develop sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable process and quality improvements. Maintains accountability for the integrity and functioning of databases. Will collect, enter and analyze data in a secure and confidential manner within the constructs of the specialty program.
Essential Functions
Supports and drives improvement activities for accountable areas based on organizational priorities (project management, measurable deliverables, milestones, and data informed strategy).
Serves as a liaison between various departments across the Corewell Health System. Communicates, collaborates, networks with and acts as a change agent to key stakeholders. Also ensures continuity and coordination of services with appropriate utilization of resources. Responsible for stakeholder management across collaboration within dept and organizational resources.
Drives continuous assessment and improvements using appropriate tools and methodology within the business, assists stakeholders and process owners in prioritizing improvement opportunities.
Utilizes clinical judgment to coordinate the retrieval of pertinent clinical and regulatory data ensuring timely submission to meet program requirements.
Collaborates with internal and external programming staff to maintain the integrity, functioning and ongoing maintenance of databases.
Maintains understanding of Quality rules and regulations for The Joint Commission and CMS.

Qualifications
Required
Associate's Degree or equivalent Healthcare or related field
2 years of relevant Nursing experience
LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - State of Michigan upon hire
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Healthcare or related field
Orthopedics experience
1 year of relevant experience with chart review, relevant clinical experience and/or Quality improvement experience
CRT-At least one Certification from preferred list - Institute for Healthcare improvement (IHI), IHI Open School
