BUNZL Director of Human Resources - Distribution Division in St. Louis, Missouri
Description
Bunzl North America is seeking a seasoned Human Resources professional for one of our business segments to join our team as the Director of Human Resources. This role will oversee employee relations and compliance. This will enhance the culture through positive employee interactions, drive a value added HR function, and provide day-to-day HR support within the Distribution Division.
This position is based in St. Louis, Missouri and is a hybrid role.
Responsibilities
Function as the strategic business partner to the business
Act as a coach and advisor to people leaders at all levels to support them in their leadership of teams
Provide candid yet motivational guidance to management team on relative HR/ER issues
Responsible for facilitating in-house management training and coordinating various other training programs
Work with the HRBP and Talent Development Manager to make recommendations for development reviews, talent calibrations, and succession planning exercises for the division.
Identifies and diagnoses issues proactively and develops, recommends and implements root cause solutions
Investigate employee relations issues and partner with Corporate HR on elevated issues.
Provide coaching and guidance to management in all areas of Employee Relations in both a union free and union environment (if applicable)
Monitor performance improvement plans as applicable, support management with disciplinary and termination processes
Participate in appropriate P & L and strategy meetings to learn and support the business.
Partner with business to align talent/people strategies with business priorities and advise Bunzl Leadership to support their business goals
Administers compensation programs and performance evaluation programs.
Administer Workers' Compensation program coordinating with the branch Warehouse Managers
Maintains records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
Maintains Human Resources Information System records and compiles reports from database.
Manage organization development reviews, talent calibrations, and succession planning exercises for the division.
Utilize assessment tools and coaching methodologies to influence high potential development plan creation and reviews
Manage Executive level recruiting and selection activities
Merge and analyze data to provide information regarding bench strength, compensation, turnover and headcount, and other people related metrics
Responsible for facilitating in-house management training and coordinating various other training programs
Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field of study required.
7+ years of Human Resources and Talent/Organizational Development experience
Significant experience in employee relations as an HR generalist
Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws and outside regulations
Must demonstrate the ability to understand P & L metrics and partner with business leaders to link business and people strategies
Must be flexible in managing constantly changing priorities and dealing comfortably with ambiguity.
Must possess considerable knowledge of people management and the principles, practices and procedures of Human Resources Management
Must have a demonstrated strong employee and customer orientation
Ability to monitor multiple projects simultaneously
Strong interpersonal skills including oral and written communication skills.
Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred Requirements:
Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification
Prior multi-site/multi-state experience
People management and operations considered a major plus.
