Infinite Health Collaborative (iHealth) Certified Athletic Trainer, Twin Cities Orthopedics @ St. Catherine's University in St. Paul, Minnesota

Description The Certified Athletic Trainer will provide athletic training services to St. Catherine University along with working in the TCO PT Clinic helping in the development and management of athletic rehabilitation and sports performance. This is a full time position split between St. Catherine's and TCO Physical Therapy Clinic. The Certified Athletic Trainer will provide athletic training services to St. Catherine University along with working in the TCO PT Clinic helping in the development and management of athletic rehabilitation and sports performance. Essential functions: * Serve as an certified athletic trainer at St. Catherine University * Work as certified athletic trainer at TCO Physical Therapy Clinic * Work schedule will be split between St. Catherine's University and TCO PT Clinic during the school year roughly August- May. During summer roughly May-August full time in TCO PT Clinic * Responsible for the assessment, treatment, prevention, rehabilitation, and documentation of acute, chronic, and emergency injuries and illnesses * Provide primary athletic training medical coverage to one or more sports including practice, events, and travel. * Refer student-athletes to team physicians and/or specialists as needed * Provide medical treatment and rehabilitation per direction of physician, medical specialists, and/or Head Athletic Trainer * Maintains records and prepare administrative reports as required by the Head Athletic Trainer, University, MIAC, OSHA * Documenting treatments in EMR in conjunction with physical therapist * Lead group rehab and performance training sessions including TCO's ACE program * Provide education on a regular basis to physicians, physical therapists, and strength coaches throughout the organization to demonstrate the use and importance of athletic training in the aid of sports performance and return to play decisions * Manage payments, attendance, and accountability reports for programs * Participate in continuing education routinely in order to maintain state licensure while practicing within the scope of MN State rules/regulations Additional functions: * Provide education and work direction to athletic training interns as assigned * Function cooperatively with all other staff, coaches, and department personnel * Comply with all rules and regulations of St. Catherine University, MIAC, and NCAA * Ability to work in a fast paced, high energy sports performance clinic * Work independently with minimal supervision * Lift/bend/reach and perform athletic movements for adequate demonstration of sports specific activities * Any and all other duties as assigned Education, experience, & other requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or other related field * NATABOC certification * Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the state of Minnesota * Current CPR certification required * 1-2 years of collegiate athletic trainer experience preferred * Experience working within physical therapy setting, carrying out exercises under the direction of a physical therapist * Experience working within a strength and conditioning setting and the ability to write and carry out programming related to return to sport within strength and conditioning.
