Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking an individual to join our DCT Compliance and Contracts Office for an exciting and rewarding opportunity as a Corporate Compliance Director! This position will lead and direct build-out of the DCT agency-wide Corporate Compliance Department. The incumbent will oversee and ensure ongoing corporate compliance infrastructure integrity and control, manage, and direct the office and supervise staff engaged in ethics, risk assessment and management, hotline operations, and auditing.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage the build out of a Corporate Compliance Office and function for DCT.

  • Manage DCT’s Corporate Compliance Office business and daily operation, including strategic planning resource management.

  • Supervise project management, risk management, ethics, internal auditors, and hotline operations staff.

  • Oversee and ensure that key corporate compliance infrastructure elements are sustained.

  • As assigned, conduct compliance reviews of operational and program practices across the agency as directed and perform other activities to support DCT executives and the compliance office in their efforts to meet goals, budget targets, and legal requirements. Complete other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Demonstrated leadership experience. Leadership experience can include:

  • Experience as a supervisor, lead worker, team lead, project lead;

  • Completion of a State of Minnesota leadership program (e.g., ELI, L4);

  • A paid/unpaid position leading a program or chairing a committee (e.g., Employee Resource Group) - experience must include:

  • 1+ year of experience identifying issues, goals and strategic actions.

  • 100+ hours per year time commitment

AND

Four (4) years of compliance and/or quality improvement experience. Experience must demonstrate or include the following:

  • Experience managing multiple projects using project management methodology including all principles involved in planning, executing, controlling, managing evaluating, and closing projects.

  • Experience collecting and analyzing large amounts of data and using the data to create reports and dashboards.

  • Experience with compliance programs, plans, and performance improvement activities.

  • Knowledge of state and federal rules, regulations and legal procedures covering a wide variety of topics and subjects related to healthcare regulation.

  • Ability to develop internal and external relationships sufficient to work with and influence different constituencies with diplomacy and build and support diverse teams in a respectful and inclusive manner.

  • Knowledge of data privacy law and regulation and ability to appropriately manage data that is not public.

  • Knowledge of HCCA best practices for ethics, corporate compliance, internal auditing, and risk assessment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • JD degree from an ABA accredited law school and a current license and in good standing to practice law in Minnesota.

  • Experience working in a healthcare organization, and familiarity with healthcare practices and regulations.

  • Experience reviewing and applying healthcare-specific regulations, and healthcare-specific contractual terms and conditions.

  • Experience facilitating meetings and leading committees.

  • Certification as a Compliance Officer (e.g. CCEP) or preferable as a healthcare compliance officer (e.g. CHC)

  • Lean six sigma certification or experience with continuous quality improvement methods.

  • Strong problem solving, independence, and initiative.
