The Employment and Family Efforts Supervisor leads a unit focused on building and implementing strategies to help people with disabilities and their families get seamless, timely support so they can work to their full potential, build financial well-being and plan for the future. This unit focuses on building person-centered approaches by aligning work internally and with other state agencies (DEED, MDE, MDH...) to make it easier for people with disabilities and their families to meet their goals and advance the following outcomes:
Employment - Minnesotans with disabilities work in competitive, integrated employment and receive the support they need to succeed.
Benefits Planning - Minnesotans with disabilities receive on-going benefits planning support to make informed decisions, work to their full potential, and build financial stability.
Family Connections - Families who have children with disabilities are connected to information, tools, and supports to meet their needs, and plan for their child’s future.
Minimum Qualifications
Professional leadership or supervisory experience
AND
4 years of professional experience demonstrating the following:
Leading complex system change and strategic planning efforts across a diverse set of partners
Effectively leading staff, setting priorities, building accountability, and establishing program implementation and evaluation strategies
Developing and analyzing public policy and administering grants and budgets
Working knowledge of the disability community, history, and related movements
Knowledge of public programs that help people with disabilities live an inclusive life, including Minnesota’s home and community-based supports programs, systems, financing, coverage, and administrative operations; related state programs/supports and federal programs (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid)
Preferred Qualifications
Deep knowledge of disability and employment policy, issues, best practices, providers, and community partners; including unique issues and systems for families with minors
Experience in advancing disability justice, self-determination, person-centered practices, and equity
Advanced written and verbal communication skills which demonstrate the ability to relate and communicate effectively with a wide range of people, establish credible relationships, and make formal presentations
Advanced leadership experiences integrating, coordinating and/or reconciling the interests, mandates, and goals of a diverse set of partners to a mutually agreeable outcome
Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures
