Job Description
Lead the development and execution of capital projects and support plant engineering needs. Develop and lead project teams which may include internal partners, outside engineering resources, suppliers, contractors, and regulatory personnel. Work with a variety of departments to develop business propositions and executive summaries for capital projects which drive and increase in company value.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and government regulations
Lead project team members through the execution of capital projects with the objective of meeting the project success criteria
Provide clear communication and direction to project team members and updates to project stakeholders
Provide guidance with the development of specifications, capital equipment, and the selection of vendors and contractors
Provide technical advice and assistance as required to sustain production capacity and capabilities
Assist in cross-training efforts to help develop partner’s skills in other functional areas of engineering (e.g., using “EPM” Enterprise Project Management tools)
Work with cross functional teams to develop business propositions and executive summaries which support company growth and profitability
Investigate, evaluate, and implement new or improved technology/methods that may improve capability, capacity, and overall profitability
Assist the plant team leadership with requests (upper management meetings, personnel, technical reviews, engineering sessions, advisory help, customer visits, etc.)
Partner with the leadership team to ensure compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans and customer requirements. Interpret and communicate customer requirements to plant production and/or support groups. Establish and audit PCPs, CCPs, and SOPs (standard operating procedures) to define and monitor processes and to ensure customer requirements are met. Review incidents during which the procedures are not met and determine appropriate corrective action for partners failing to follow standard procedures

Requirements
Bachelor’s in engineering or related field
Experienced in electrical controls (PLC programming, Servos, VFD’s, etc.)
Experience in leading projects and project management
Experience with Microsoft projects
Certification and/or license – may be required during course of employment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems
Able to manage multiple projects and participate in cross-functional environment
Able to communicate with various levels to ensure customers’ needs and requirements are met
Able to communicate technical information to non-technical individuals
Able to present options and ideas to current processes or procedures
Able to develop and evaluate alternatives
Must be able to read, write and speak English
