About the role
This position will work an overnight shift, 6PM – 6AM on a rotating schedule that includes working every other weekend. Must be flexible to train on 1st shift, Monday – Friday 6AM – 2:30PM for the first 90 days.
The Industrial Maintenance Technician role involves taking full responsibility for production equipment, ensuring smooth operations, troubleshooting issues, and driving innovation to improve quality, safety, and performance. Key responsibilities include leading or assisting in the layout, installation, maintenance, and repair of automated high-speed packaging and mixing equipment, performing proactive inspections, diagnosing and correcting electrical and mechanical malfunctions, and recommending modifications to improve reliability. The role also requires maintaining safety practices, cleanliness, and regulatory paperwork, reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings, and acting as an emergency responder. Preferred skills include welding, PLC troubleshooting and programming, and service of motors and VFD programming. The use of various tools and equipment, such as hand tools, welding equipment, and computers, is essential.
Your responsibilities
Lead/assist in layout, installation, maintenance, and repair of high-speed equipment and utility systems.
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical malfunctions; familiarity with electrical systems.
Read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings/blueprints.
PLC, Servo motors, and VFD troubleshooting and minor programming.
Maintain paperwork for regulations and equipment maintenance history.
Emergency response responsibilities (e.g., fires, searches, evacuations, first aid).
Operate various tools and equipment, including welding and multi-meters.
Ensure cleanliness and housekeeping of work area; maintain good safety practices.
The experience we're looking for
Minimum of 5+ years of work experience in a manufacturing environment, with a preference for high-speed packaging equipment.
Preferred educational background includes an associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical and/or electrical disciplines.
Electrical certification and NFPA 70E training is preferred and available, if needed.
Proficient in preventative maintenance (PM) techniques and capable of implementing improvements based on vendor manuals.
Experience in programming and troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
Desired background in mechanical, electrical, or reliability maintenance; welding and machining skills are a plus.
Skilled in applying and facilitating continuous improvement tools such as TPM, 5S, and FMEA.
