Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for Controller in St. Simons Island, Georgia. This role is primarily focused on financial management and accounting within the Controller job function. The selected candidate will engage in various responsibilities that involve customer credit applications, customer credit records, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
Management of all accounting and finance-related functions, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial reporting, and treasury functions
Management of third-party partnerships to provide HR and IT services
Implement corporate policies and procedures to control and communicate accounting policies, budget controls, taxes, and related activities
Ensure the integrity and safeguarding of Club assets through monitoring of internal control systems and preparation of interim management reports
Prepare monthly financial statements, including supporting documents and analyses in an accurate and timely manner
Performs daily revenue audits and daily posting of revenues and receipts. Responsible for Club banking, including deposits, cash reconciliation, loan management, etc.
Calculate and submit and ensure timely payment of all state and local taxes
Completes annual general insurance renewal applications and reviews with the CFO
Lead preparation and monitoring of operating budgets and perform additional relevant accounting and management tasks as may be assigned from time to time
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in accounting or finance
5+ years of accounting experience
CPA/MBA preferred
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel
Strong verbal and written communication skills and possess excellent customer service skills
Must be able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
