Description:

Johnson Memorial Hospital a member of trinity Health Of New England is looking for a Medical Office Coordinator to join the Case Management Team.

The Medical Office Coordinator performs a variety of general office duties to assist the staff of the Case Management Department.

What will you do:

  • Answer telephones, takes messages and route calls.

  • obtaining insurance authorizations.

  • Manage Denials, setting up P2P’s or downgrading accounts in Event Management

  • Collect data essential to Departments metrics to include readmissions, O/E, observation hours and denials.

  • Responsible for entering data into teams’ site and excel workbooks.

  • Coordinates support activities involved in daily operations of an effective Case Management Department

  • provides exceptional customer service in person and over the phone with patient, staff and family members.

  • Performs variety of duties related to the authorization and recertification of insurance for patients

  • Manage department schedule and time and attendance

  • manage office department supplies

  • Supports Case Management staff with clerical tasks with positive energy.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required. Associate's or Bachelors preferred

  • Preferably 1 -2 years' experience in healthcare

  • Excellent computer abilities. Excellent written, oral communication and customer service skills. Medical Assistant certificate or equivalent experience. ​Familiarity with medical terminology.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to follow written and verbal directions with multiple steps. Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently within a team treatment model. Ability to manage multiple phone lines simultaneously
