The Master Data Governance Analyst supports the development and management of master data and its related processes. The role will have responsibility for improving the quality and managing the protection of sensitive data and information assets. The position will be a subject matter expert in master data management processes and will support the strategic and operational definition, design, implementation, and continuous innovation of the end-to-end master data processes. This includes championing alignment across the organization to drive global process harmonization and deployment, while ensuring regional needs are met where required.

The Master Data Governance Analyst serves as a point of support for governance, data quality and protection issues and will work closely with regions, business units, functions and IT to improve the quality and value of core data assets, respond to regulatory protection requirements as well as support the strategic requirements of the enterprise.

Role & Responsibility

Define Data Governance

  • Support the establishment and operation of an enterprise master data governance implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development of master data-centered capabilities

  • Champion enterprise master data management processes by establishing master data management strategy, processes and governance in support of the organization’s digital transformation

  • Roll out an enterprise wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through establishment of policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture

  • Support roles and responsibilities related to master data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company’s principal master data assets. Advocate for strong data sponsorship

  • Support data migration activities (including extraction, cleansing, transformation, and validation) for related solution footprint changes

Champion to provide Data Governance as a Service

  • Acts as the agent for change in driving data culture, ensure appropriate usage, and access across functions

  • Collaborates with data owners, data scientist and data owners to enhance, maintain, and govern data assets

  • Promotes usage of shared data, encourages enrichment of metadata for proper usage

Trusted Advisor to Leadership

  • Serve as a liaison between business units, functional areas, service lines, major programs and IT to ensure that data related business requirements for master data are clearly defined, communicated and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning

  • Quickly earns the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders

  • Executes with limited information and ambiguity

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

  • At least 4 years functional and technical expertise in ERP (preferably SAP) maintained master data governance

  • Project management experience, as well as strong fundamentals in analytics, data integration, and visualization

  • Advanced understanding of business line/competitive environment

  • Ability to influence and communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization

  • Strong change agent; effective communicator

  • Enterprise resource planning (ERP) background, preferably SAP

  • Travel Required: 10-24%
