Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the General Laborer position in our Production department. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will be able to learn and complete a variety of tasks as needed within the plant. Additionally, you may…
Clean and finish product using hand tools and/or power tools according to specifications
Rig/hang parts using wire to prep for galvanizing
Mask and tape parts for Corrocoting process
Be a Team Player assisting in other areas of the plant as needed
Complete paperwork
Assist in general plant clean up and housekeeping
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, squat, reach, push, pull, hold, grasp for various amount of time
Must be willing to work in hot, cold or rainy environment
Must wear full PPE at all times while on the floor – steel toed boots w/met guards, hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, work pants/jean, long sleeves, high viz vest.
Work safely, protecting self and others from accident and injury
What it takes
Required Qualifications
The ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
The ability to learn and apply training
The ability to be flexible within the plant
The ability to use hand tools and/or power tools
The ability to lift up to 50 pounds
The ability to work in an outside environment
The ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, reach, push, pull, squat, hold, grasp for various amount of time
The ability to communicate problems or needs to lead or supervisor
Highly qualified candidates will also possess:
Minimum six months experience using hand tools
Minimum six months experience using power tools
Minimum six months experience in a manufacturing environment
The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
Must have a high awareness for safety at all times
Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
