Enviri Corporation Loader Operator in Steelton, Pennsylvania

This position is responsible for day-to-day Heavy Equipment Operation (including Excavator, material handler and/or loader) activities at a steel metal recovery plant. Duties include but not limited to:

A. Performs routine mobile equipment prestart and post inspections.

B. Follows all plant safety guidelines for the safe operations of heavy mobile equipment.

C. Operate equipment as directed by managers

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 1 - 3 years’ experience as a heavy equipment operator.

  • Ability to do manual labor in an outdoor environment that may include elevated areas and extreme weather conditions.

  • Good communications skills, and the ability to read operating instructions.

  • Proactive in SAFETY and works well in a team environment.

  • Experience in using a Loader Operator required

  • Mechanical ability a plus

  • Good work ethic, self-motivated

  • Ability to work independently in a safe and efficient manner and to follow safety policies and procedures.

  • Solid communication, problem-solving and leadership skills

  • Must be able to work shift work

  • Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work outdoors in hot and cold temperatures

  • Must be able to work in a busy, often distracting work environment.

  • Must be able to lift-up to 50 pounds unassisted on an occasional basis.

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.

  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
