Job Description

Assists head tennis coach with coaching, recruiting, meet day preparation and travel requirements. Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). Position is located in Stephenville, Texas with work hours of Monday - Friday from 8am to 5pm or as work requirements indicate , which may include after hours and weekends.

Responsibilities:

50% Coaches student athletes individually and in groups, and demonstrates game techniques. May manage a designated skill development area or group of positions. Instructs student athletes on physical health, team concepts and safety. Instructs student athletes in the rules and fundamentals of their sport. Ensures adherence to all Association, Conference, and University rules by student athletes and supporting staff. Oversees practice events.

25% Assists Head Coach with travel planning and coordination, equipment management and meet day preparations. Assists with fundraising. Provides academic oversight of athletes. Recruiting of all aspects. Manages home meets.

20% This position may be required to perform tasks related to meet administration of sporting events hosted by Tarleton State University.

5% Performs other duties as assigned by head coach.

Required Education and Experience:

-Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

-Competitive tennis experience as a coach or collegiate athlete including post collegiate competition.

-Experience planning year-long training/teaching tennis.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong commitment to academic achievement. Strong knowledge of NCAA and WAC rules. Successful commitment, knowledge and experience with the recruiting process. Excellent communications, collaboration and organizational skills.

Commensurate with experience

The target base annual salary is commensurate with experience and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
